INTRACITY-
The youth departments of the town councils of Albal and Torrent, through the Xarxa Joves.net Consortium, and the region of EL Priorat, in conjunction with the Comissariat Association within its Priorat Art Centre project, proudly present Intracity, a public art competition aimed at the selection of ephemeral projects for intervention in public spaces.
Intracity’s aim is establish mediation links between the public and the territory, understood to be an abstract context where a multiplicity of realities forming an intra-history (both on the urban level and the rural level) is developed. A further objective is to review the symbolic uses of architecture and the transformation of the environment as a residual effect of the event society and the interferences resulting from advertising language in the configuration of meanings that construe a certain social message.
The projects, designed in terms of specific delocalised intervention, will tackle aspects with the objective of contributing to the analysis of territorial and social diversity with regard to the global pressure of exclusion models. This delocalisation or extension of meanings in terms of specificity will engender multiple reinterpretations upon entry into contact with the contextual characteristics of each town during the transit and intracommunication process established by the projects with the public spaces and the different types of citizens and publics.
